1lemon peel — Twist on top.acid
2 dashesgum syrup — Source says two or three dashes.base
0.67 jiggerWhiskey — Source says two-thirds jigger.base

ice — fine shaved iceother
  1. Shake the gum syrup, Angostura bitters, whiskey, and fine shaved ice until the outside of the shaker is white with frost.
  2. Strain into a straight bar glass, twist a piece of lemon peel on top, and serve.

Garnish: Twisted lemon peel.

Ice: Fine shaved ice

This is a useful pre-Prohibition witness for frappe as a chilling mode applied to cocktail service rather than only liqueur drinks.

The frosted shaker endpoint is the key service cue.
