2 dasheslemon juice — Source says two or three dashes.acid
1 wine glassapple brandy — apple whiskeybase
1 spoonfulsugar base
1 squirtseltzer — seltzer waterdilution
0.5 glassice — fine iceother
  1. Dissolve the sugar and lemon juice with a squirt of seltzer water in a mixing glass half filled with fine ice.
  2. Add the apple whiskey, spoon well, strain into a sour glass, put in fruit, and serve.

Garnish: Fruit.

Ice: Fine ice

Daly's New Jersey comment makes this a useful regional orchard-spirit sour witness.

This is a spooned and strained sour service rather than a hard-shaken fizz-style branch.
