2 dashLemon juice (fresh) — lemon juiceacid
2 dashMaraschino liqueur — maraschinobase
1 drinkOld Tom gin — Tom ginbase
2 dashorange bitters — orange bittersbitter
  1. Use a mixing glass with cracked ice.
  2. Add the maraschino, orange bitters, lemon juice, and Tom gin.
  3. Shake, strain into a cocktail glass, garnish with a cherry, and serve.

Garnish: Cherry

Ice: One glass of cracked ice

Nose
Cherry, lemon, and gin aromatics rise together.
Palate
Maraschino softens the gin line without making the drink heavy, and the lemon keeps it tighter than a sweeter cordial cocktail.
Finish
The finish is dry-fruity, crisp, and lightly bittered.
Summary
A compact maraschino-gin aromatic from the mature pre-war field.

This is useful because it preserves a compact Tom-gin aperitif bridge between older aromatic cocktails and the citrus-touched pre-war canon.

The small citrus charge is folded into a stirred service rather than treated as a full shaken sour.
