| 1 teaspoonful | Robinson's Patent Barley | base |
| dash | Angostura bitters | bitter |
| 2 pint | boiling water | dilution |
| little | cold water | dilution |
| to taste | Soda water | dilution |
| 2 tablespoonful | granulated sugar | sweetener |
- Mix barley with a little cold water, add lime juice and sugar, pour on boiling water, leave to cool, and serve with Angostura and soda water to taste.
