Nose
Warm brandy and lemon peel give a cleaner aroma than the spiced sling form.
Palate
Omitting nutmeg makes the toddy plainer and more direct, preserving the distinction between toddy and sling that many later accounts blur.

The finish is warm, simple, and gently sweet.
Summary
A plain hot brandy toddy preserving the stripped-down side of the warm-service family.
