- Dissolve loaf sugar in a little water in a silver goblet.
- Crush one mint leaf gently, drop it in, and fill nearly to the brim with shaved ice.
- Pour in all the Bourbon the goblet will hold, frappe well with a spoon, decorate with mint sprigs, and serve without a straw.
