1 small piecelemon peel — Lemon peelacid
1 cupCognac brandy base
1 quartstrong drip coffee — Strong New Orleans dripped coffeedilution
0.5 orangeOrange peel — Orange peelgarnish
3 piecescinnamon stick — Stick cinnamonother
50 wholewhole cloves — Whole clovesother
45 piecesloaf sugar — Loaf sugarsweetener
  1. Steep the brandy, sugar, cloves, cinnamon, orange peel, and lemon peel together for at least six hours.
  2. Warm the mixture in a brulot bowl, ignite it, and ladle through the flame briefly to establish the burn.
  3. Pour in steaming strong drip coffee, stir, and serve in after-dinner coffee cups.
