Summary
An expanded aromatic brandy cocktail showing the late nineteenth-century improved-cocktail logic in full bloom.

This is useful because it keeps the improved-cocktail branch visible before later simplifications strip away much of this complexity.

The absinthe and maraschino additions materially change the drink and are not incidental flavoring.

Compared with the standard Brandy Cocktail, this is richer, more perfumed, and more obviously a late-century bar evolution.

Source notes the flavor is improved by moistening the edge of the cocktail glass with lemon.
