Cocktail Boothby's American Bar-Tender by Wm. T. Boothby (1891, p.54) — Boston Style

1 lemonlemon juice — juice of one lemonacid
1 jiggerbrandy — cognacbase
2 teaspoonfulgum syrup base
St. Croix rum — Used as a dash.base
  1. Place gum syrup, lemon juice, ice, cognac, and a dash of St. Croix rum in a small cut bar glass.
  2. Stir, decorate, and serve.

Garnish: Decorate with fruit.

Ice: Piece of ice

This is a useful regional single-glass punch checkpoint because Boothby explicitly marks it as a Boston style.

Unlike Boothby's larger bowls, this version keeps the punch as a small stirred service drink.
