Mixed Drinks by Herbert W. Green (1895, p.64)
| 0.5 lemon | lemon juice — juice one-half lemon | acid |
| 2 dash | Jamaica rum | base |
| 1 large spoonful | sugar | base |
| 1 jigger | Whiskey — whisky | base |
- Fill a mixing glass two-thirds full of fine ice and add the ingredients.
- Shake well, strain into a star champagne glass, and add fruits of the season.
Garnish: Fruits of the season.
Ice: Fine ice
This is a useful named whiskey-sour branch because Green keeps the rum accent explicit rather than implied.
The structure stays fully within the compact shaken sour pattern.
